چکیده

Acoustic echo cancellation is important for audio teleconferencing when simultaneous communication of speech is necessary. In acoustic echo cancellation, a measured microphone signal contains two signals such as the near-end speech signal and the far-end echoed speech signal. The goal is to remove the far-end echoed speech signal from the microphone signal so that only the near-end speech signal is transmitted. In speech signal processing slow convergence and high computational burden are the main problems. The proposed m e t h o d is based on using adaptive filter and uses the least mean square (LMS) algorithm to control a filter coefficients to reduce the echo in the input speech. Here the algorithm is developed and simulated with help of LabVIEW.

A Robust Acoustic Echo Canceller for Noisy Environment1

A new acoustic echo cancellation method for noisy environment is proposed and a real-time system is built. Different from the conventional acoustic echo cancellers, the proposed has a novel structure and can remove the echo effectively at low SNR. In our system, the speech with stationary noise is processed in order to separate the echo from the noise before updating the adaptive filter which i...

Joint Dereverberation and Residual Echo Suppression of Speech Signals in a Noisy Environment

Hands-free devices, such as mobile phones, are perhaps one of the most prominent applications of acoustic echo cancellation systems. They are often used in a noisy enclosed environment. Therefore, the recorded near-end speech will also contain reverberation and background noise, which degrade the fidelity and intelligibility of speech. In the last two decades postprocessors have been developed ...

Joint noise reduction and acoustic echo cancellation using the transfer-function generalized sidelobe canceller

Man machine interaction requires an acoustic interface for providing full duplex hands-free communication. The transfer-function generalized sidelobe canceller (TF-GSC) is an adaptive beamformer suitable for enhancing a speech signal received by an array of microphones in a noisy and reverberant environment. When an echo signal is also present in the microphone output signals, cascade schemes o...

Acoustic echo cancellation in non-linear and noisy environments

This paper presents a new assessment of four approaches to acoustic echo cancellation in the presence of non-linear echo. The comparison is performed with algorithms that are configured to give equivalent performance under linear-only echo conditions, thereby giving a more meaningful assessment. We also compare the effect of non-linear echo to that of noise and show that, whilst performance dif...

Adaptive Filter Application in Echo Cancellation System and Implementation using FPGA

In telephony system, the received signal by the loudspeaker, is reverberated through the environment and picked up by the microphone. It is called an echo signal. Which is in the form of time delayed and attenuated image of original speech signal, and causes a reduction in the quality of the communication. Adaptive filters are a class of filters that iteratively alter their parameters in order ...
